Vixen Media Group 'Reviewing Brand Guidelines,' Announces #BLM Donation

LOS ANGELES — Vixen Media Group (VMG) released a statement tonight via Twitter addressing the #BlackLivesMatter protests and announcing a company-wide review of "brand guidelines and creative processes" in addition to making a donation to several organizations "on the front lines diligently organizing and protecting our citizens' rights to peacefully protest."

VMG brands included Blacked and Blacked Raw, Deeper, Tushy and Tushy Raw, and Vixen.

The text of their statement follows:

We are all in this together.

This past week VMG has engaged in conversations addressing the racial inequalities and divisions within our close-knit industry. We have read, listened and learned new perspectives amidst this ongoing national crisis. We are reminded that we are all working towards the common goal of eradicating racism from our industry, our country and the global society. If you are not there yet, please join the movement.

This industry in which we operate has an imperfect past but we have always strived to elevate it through our actions as a company. That does not mean we are perfect but we are now more aware of the opportunity gaps that black performers face in our industry. We are addressing certain terms and keywords that have emerged as sensitive, controversial or problematic. We are also reviewing our brand guidelines and creative processes that contribute to the content we produce. We have come to realize that it is our responsibility to be the change we all wish to see.

This week alone we have donated $50,000 to Black Lives Matter, The National Lawyers Guild and the National Bail Fund Network's Emergency Rapid Response Fund. These organizations are all on the front lines diligently organizing and protecting our citizens' rights to peacefully protest. We will continue to give as opportunities arise.

We will be pausing our social media as we take steps towards creating a better place both online and off for our performers, artists and fans. We value all of your voices and we encourage everyone to continue speaking out.

We are all in this together.

Love,
Vixen Media Group
